Betty Holwerda Nelson was only six years old when her grandfather passed away. She has spent the rest of her life getting to know him better through stories told to her by a community that loved and respected 'Doc Bill.' Betty says when it was time to organize a festival to honor the founders of Lindsborg, Dr. William Holwerda joined other community leaders planning the 1941 event that became the inaugural Svensk Hyllningsfest (click photo for video story).
