Collecting Lindsborg Stories and Art

March 21, 2020 Dala Town

The stories are hanging on the walls next to artistic pieces that have been treasured in homes and studios around the Smoky Valley for years.

Marsha Howe, Director of the Raymer Society and co-chair of Lindsborg Collects Lindsborg Art, says the backbone to the exhibit is sharing the stories about why a certain painting or work resonates with the collector.

“Some of them have been handed down by generations in a family, some of them were gifts, some of them were bought at auction,” she said.

Howe and co-chair Carol Gusenius have overseen the artful harvest for 8 years and decided this edition would honor women in arts in conjunction with the Messiah Festival’s theme for 2020.
