The autumn of 2020 will long be remembered by the members of the Smoky Valley volleyball team who finished as a state runner up in the Class 3A Division after falling to Sabetha over the weekend. The Vikings finished the year by setting a new school record with a 34-4 mark.

Smoky Valley Cross Country runners competed at the state level as well racking up awards on the final day of competition.

The Vikings’ Ryan Heline finished 3rd in Class 3A with a time of 16:35.97.

On girls’ 3A XC course, Smoky Valley’s Beth Lambert placed 15th with a time of 21:03.38.

Viking football wrapped up their 2020 campaign with a loss at Riley County in the first round of the 3A playoffs. Smoky Valley finishes the season with a 3-6 record. RC Falcons improve to 7-1 and will move on to play Scott City in the second round of the post season.

The Bethany College Swedes fell short on Senior Day at Anderson Stadium on Saturday, losing to the 24th ranked Bethel Threshers, 38-0. The Swedes are scheduled to play on campus Saturday, November 7th to take on the Bulldogs of McPherson College with a 1pm kickoff.
