Books To Go

June 14, 2023 Dala Town

The Friends of the Lindsborg Library book sale is underway and runs through Saturday afternoon at 2pm in connection with Lindsborg’s Midsummer Festival on June 17.

It’s Lindsborg’s chance to stop in and check out the new space the staff and patrons will be taking advantage of soon with the purchase of the adjacent building next door while shopping for a few new books to read this summer or stock up for a cold winter’s night.

Tough Choices: Philip Hinman sits with piles of books his children selected for him to peruse.

Library Director Suzanna Swenson explained that boxes of donated books and some older selections off the shelves make for plenty of great choices in every genre.

Proceeds from the book sale go to benefit Friends of the Library, which in part funds summer reading initiatives and after school activities.

Sturdy canvas bags will help you tote all your selections home.

Library Director Suzanna Swenson details how the new space will benefit the staff and patrons.

The Lindsborg Community Library is growing with the original site at 111 S. Main and and the new acquisition just to the north at 109 S. Main Street. For more information about the library, visit their website or Facebook page.

Teens Are A Bookworm's Best Friend: If you checked out a book this summer or visited the library for story time in 2022, chances are that this group of young men helped reshelve the book or tidied up the space after the fun.

Enjoy this Midsummer’s Festival photo essay for some of the highlights of the day.
